Key features of our school include:

  • A gymnasium and Performing Arts learning centre.
  • An outdoor garden learning environment.
  • An outdoor bush garden play area.
  • A rigorous out of school hours sports program.
  • Teaching Punjabi (First Language Maintenance and Development program).
  • Electives year 5/6 – Sports, Art, Dance, Digital Technologies.

Allenby Gardens Primary is a well-equipped preschool to year 6 school, Out of School Hours Care (before and after school) and Vacation Care.  OSHC is available to school-aged students. Our student enrolment in the primary school is currently 421 students and 81 children in the preschool. Our school is located in a small, cohesive inner western suburban district. It is highly valued by the parents who come from diverse cultures and socio-economic backgrounds.

Education in the district began in 1926, with the opening of Welland Primary School, later renamed Allenby Gardens Primary School.  Please view our School Context Statement for more detail.

We have high expectations of our entire community; children/students, staff and families. This is coupled with a nurturing and vibrant environment, and abundant resources. Consistency, structure and evidenced based learning; underpins our learning improvement journey and successes to date.

We are committed to ensuring that Allenby Gardens Primary School empowers all students to achieve excellence, and develop the skills, knowledge and dispositions to embrace future challenges.

We have highly skilled and passionate members of our leadership, teaching and professional teams (front office staff and School Services Officers), all of which are dedicated and consistently go above and beyond in supporting students and the wider school community.

All families are welcome to become active members of our school community. Research shows that parents who become partners in their child's education are more satisfied with the learning achieved.

The many visitors who have passed through our school have noticed and remarked on the happy and welcoming atmosphere of our school. As a community we feel this is very important, as we believe our children/students learn best when they are happy, have a sense of belonging and feel valued.

It is a privilege to lead this outstanding school for the last few years. We invite you to schedule a tour and see for yourself!

If you have questions that are not yet answered by the website, you are warmly invited to contact the school by email at dl.0473.info@schools.sa.edu.au.
