Digital Technologies Electives

One of the electives programs offered to our senior students here at Allenby Gardens Primary School is Digital Technologies. In this elective, students engage in a range of tasks and inquiry projects to create a final product using technology. There is a strong focus on being the “creator” instead of the “consumer” and understanding how to apply skills across a range of different programs and applications.

The Curse of Everything - a short animation by Summer

For digital technologies this year I experimented and created a presentation using Adobe Animate. It is a animating app used to create either short or long movies. You can draw and create your own pictures and then animate them, or you can use the ones already made from Adobe. The purpose of my project was to learn and experiment with Adobe Animate and to use different features from it. My story is about the end of time through a curse that destroys everything.  The biggest challenge I faced throughout making this was when my work got deleted when I was making it. The software closed and I had to start over again. But looking back on this, what I had from when it was deleted and what I have now, I'm happy with what I was able to achieve.

What is Bullying and What to Do if You Get Bullied - a video created on Canva by Kirat

Canva is an app that can help people make logos, social media posts and posters. The purpose of my project is to help people who get bullied. My biggest challenge was at the end when the teacher kept making me re-edit my project because it had mistakes.
